Shania Twain's Return

Dear Editor:

Living day to day in the shadow of continual meteorological chaos created by human-created carbon emissions, the city of Fayetteville has made notable strides.  Recovering from three epic hurricanes and their residual flooding, residents of Cumberland County have suffered grievous inconvenience.   Drinking water has been contaminated with carcinogenic compounds produced by Chemours.  Farmers have been spraying their fields with animal feces and urine.  The Marines deploy to Fort Bragg and shake the earth upon which we live.  Mayor Mitch Colvin has questioned the city's support of a new Civil War Museum in light of progress not made concerning these issues.  Finally the Mirror Lake dam is under construction.  It appears to be completed by the end of this year.  When faced with this continued blight it could be difficult to prioritize civic monetary support.  Fayetteville has made significant strides in downtown development.  This renovation long has been underway, since former mayor Bill Hurley exorcised crime from Hay Street.  There have been tangible, consistent, and successful efforts to rehabilitate downtown.  These successes are the Airborne and Special Operations Museum, Festival Park, the Cape Fear River Trail, the  Linear Trail, the FAST Transit Center, the Crown Coliseum, the Arts Center, the Cape Fear Regional Theater, and most recently the completion of SEGRA Stadium.  Most importantly the Rowan Street bridge has been replaced.  The Prince Charles Hotel is being renovated, and a new accompanying hotel is being build atop the parking deck adjacent to the stadium.  The Fayetteville Outer Loop I-295 is under construction.  There are many gears churning in Cumberland Country thanks to BRAC's decision to expand Fort Bragg.  In particular a small miracle has transpired downtown.  A skateboard park is being built at Rowan Street park.  Team Pain has done an excellent job designing and constructing this one-of-a-kind recreational facility.  This is a time for renewed investment in Fayetteville's youth.  Systematically we have abandoned and burdened them with debt.  Providing this holistic, healthy, and unifying facility is monumental.  It is an investment and a milestone.  Fayetteville has broken the surface of her grave for our youth.  With these significant developments Fayetteville and her neighboring cities and counties still are struggling with crime, drug abuse, and suicide.  Soldiers are returning from deployment and finding it difficult integrate in Cumberland Country.  Why?  I am fifty-seven, and I grew up living in Greenwood Homes behind Eutaw Shopping Center.  The lineage of Fayetteville progress and digression is clear to me.  We are subject to massive environmental pollution, and it has escalated.  BRAC has not been helpful.  Without fomenting anti-military sentiment the effects of their expanded military presence needs to be voiced.  Since the election of Donald Trump America has devolved into a violent, racist, and tribal battlefield.  Murder is common.  Unifying American should be our goal.  The incumbent Republican leadership is oppressive.  Republican government has loosened if not abolished corporate regulation.  Corporate indulgence has run amuck accumulating wealth for their shareholders but with no concern for the average-earning American.  We are struggling.  Anachronistically they are trying to abolish us.  It is called ethnic cleansing.  Adolph Hitler may be the starkest reminder of this kind of fascist genocide.  In Fayetteville it is not a conscience effort.  It is the residual and cumulative effect of Donald Trump's presidency.  The Republican Party mindlessly defend this President's shortcomings.  Dan Rather calls it a cult, and that cult is the KKK.  Good shall prevail through force.  Nancy Pelosi said it well.  "You have to be ready to strike a blow for our children."  When evil is threatening to destroy, it must be struck down. We cannot allow self annihilation.  Our environment is reeling from heat resulting in fungal and cancer overgrowth.   Fayetteville is an anomaly, because it is triangulated by rail heads. When they are operating in tandem, it is unhealthy for human existence.  Lobbyists for rail companies coerce you to believe 4,400 horse power locomotives are healthy for our environment.  They are not.  They are destructive.  They leak low frequency alternating current.  Tesla was correct.  You can transmit AC through the air.  Power companies didn't want us to know.  AC technology in traction is the formula for destruction of the human race and the earth.  This is why GE's stock is worth five dollars.    When DAK Americas, a Mexican-owned polyester resin plant, River Terminal, the Honeycutt Marshalling Yard, the Milan Yard,  and Norfolk Southern decide to do business at the same time on the same day earning profits for their shareholders?  Residents of Fayetteville are being exposed to low frequency sound and electrocuting low frequency alternating current.  The Aberdeen and Rockfish use antiquated, two stroke, turbo-charged diesel prime movers.  When operating they produce vibration which can be felt for miles.  We are being beaten into submission by enemies who do not care for us.  Under Donald Trump America has become a me first society, because this is all that Republicans know.  We will not survive.

One World Order

There is one thing I know for sure concerning American media.  Media in America has become a broad term in recent years, and perhaps we have lost focus.  Media in American history encompasses many grassroots, holistic, and therapeutic cultural habits which are entrenched in the souls of older folks.  There was a time when media in American history was part of everyday life, but in ways very different from staring at a computer screen and receiving immediate gratification from "Likes."  Media in American history was based upon human interaction in physiological form, not through cyberspace.  It was based upon the sweat and blood of Americans cranking through life everyday, overcoming obstacles, and searching for dreams.  Life in America back in the day was about us.  It was a time before wealthy, privileged, and lazy glass ceiling children controlled our lives with the swipe of a magic wand.  The "Hippie" movement was visceral, reactionary, and activist although fueled by mind altering drugs.  Then like now it was necessary to see American reality through a buffer.  Sadly our environment and planet have become so polluted we are having difficulty recovering from our bacchanals.  People all around me are dying from the long term and consequent effects of tobacco, alcohol, and drug use.  We no longer can self-medicate ourselves into a useful and functional state.  Instead we are being murdered by our own devices.  The environment, our food chain, and our psychological health are tainted with the remnants of corporate America.  We no longer consume quality products, we die at the behest of their production.  Surrounding me are the byproducts of the production of rubber, vegetable oils, polyester resin, and ammonia products for refrigeration.  Chemours regularly has been spewing harmful toxins into our air and water, which yet has been mitigated.  I am one to complain, because when I asked a local nurse why she moved to Fayetteville, she replied that where she was from it was saturated in foggy industrial waste.  I remember driving through this area of West Virginia, up on the interstate bridges that traversed the smoking stacks of manufacturing.  With that in mind the air quality of Fayetteville sublimely and covertly has become laced with carcinogens.  Just the allergens alone are enough to cause our local population grief.  Having worked on cruise ships for over a decade, I became accustomed to clean air.  Imagine that.  Clean air in the metallic confines of a floating hotel.  I never realized that the trees in the woods around me were laced with pollen, and that keeping that pollen out of your home was a necessity.  Now I have realized the importance of the cleanliness of your living space.  We have upgraded, but it is a work in progress.  HVAC technology has far lagged behind other internet-based technologies.  We are so concerned with controlling our homes with our phones, we have forgotten what is in them.  What kind of filtration systems do we have?  Is our air fresh and clean?  Is our system efficient enough to removed the harmful carbon dioxide we produce as human beings?  We are primitive and perhaps living outside in the bush is more healthy than our homes.  A friend of mine was candid enough to express that he felt the millennial generation wore no rose colored glasses.  They have come to expect crushing debt, long hours, and low wages.  Still I remember a better time in America, a time when labor unions formed and demanded it.  They created our middle class, an order which demanded a quality lifestyle in return for their hours of labor building American products.  Now our products are produced in China for a fraction of our labor costs.  The middle class has disappeared, and we have become a third world country.  I for one am tired of being shat on (using a slang term and a dangling preposition.)  We are shat on everyday by the American military as their jets fly over our homes spewing chemical trails and and I'll bet other things.  Why does that one particular jet make his approach turn directly over my house I've often wondered.  When I try to communicate with the pilot using a traditional S-O-S patterns of of light he flies right by.  Not interested.  It is amazing to me that these businesses dominate the dynamic of Fayetteville life.  CSX is their vehicle.  They and the United States Army dictate what is happening in Fayetteville at any given time.  Even if you have no interest in soldiering, hearing 50 caliber machine guns, and having your walls rattle from exploding shells, we have no choice but to acknowledge.  You can't ignore war, and you can't ignore the preparation for war.  It only is about war, and not getting your dick shot off.  That means a lifestyle that is drastically different than the non-military.  I have no interest in being a soldier, and I will not waste time thinking about ensuing battle.  I would rather create and work on things that promote a healthy Christian life.  It is amazing how much control the world has over us.

A Covert Civil and Revolutionary War

I have so many things on my mind, it is difficult to prioritize them.  What do I want to say?  I want to say that beginning on the day "The Donald" became our American president, any regulation of corporate America was diminished or eliminated.  Not long after Gump became our American president (and I reiterate "OUR" American president, and by the word "OUR" I mean the majority of American citizens who are not wealthy), "OUR" meaning metaphorically "For the people," Donald Trump, in his only active and successful penning of governmental legislation, generously, selfishly, and fraudulently handed corporate America a twelve percent profit.  There was no achievement.  There was no savvy investment.  There was no pooling of mortgages and selling them as a risky but high-earning financial instrument.  There was no conglomeration.  There was no down sizing.  There was no creation of a successful product appealing to millions of Americans and therefore meriting its purchase and thus earning ability.  There was nothing achieved by corporate America to earn this twelve percent profit, except that they had to pay twelve percent less in taxes to the federal government which in turn are supposed to provide services to the American populace.  These taxes more importantly were created to fund the country, its governance, and its people.  These taxes were created to allow America to function and thrive.  Consequently the Donald has increased our national deficit to epic proportions.  He, in like fashion to the Trump organization, has swindled his customers for his party's and family's gain.  We as Americans, brainwashed, threatened, and in denial idly sit by and watch as Agent Orange commits cultural genocide to America.  His actions are as  dire, fascist, and murderous as the Third Reich, and yet if asked most millennials would not know what that was.  Adolf Hitler instigated one of the most grievous acts of genocide in world history, and our American youth are more concerned with the flavor of their lattes or having their car drive them to work autonomously.  The conscious neglect of our system of public education is a direct assault on the populace of America as are the poisoning of our food through shitty ingredients, the assault of our psychological health through massive environmental pollution, and the compliance and conformity to evil by sheer cultural and political ignorance.  America could not be in a worse state, and our lives are at stake.  The day the Donald took office corporate America rallied in a business philosophy that abandoned the consumer, turned its back on moral and ethical responsibility, and mocked God.  We are in a true fight against evil in Biblical proportions prophesied in the Book of Revelations.  Trumps ascendancy into power signaled a corporate rally of irreverence, self centeredness, and dominance only rivaled by American history herself.  We have entered a new Guilded Age, and trusts once again are controlling the masses.  Is there any reason why one lone man could and should hold one hundred billion dollars in profit without reinfusing the American economy with jobs, opportunity, and philanthropy?  Capitalism has failed to operate, because corporate CEOs never have learned how it works.  One cannot create a company and seek to keep all of its profits.  If one operates in a nation, as a country, and as a community and state, the hoarding of assets is not allowed.  For the socioeconomic system of capitalism to function, capital must flow through the system.  Capital must flow in a wave of earning and spending on goods and services for ALL Americans.  If Gump supporters want to call this "Socialism" let them, because Trump-supported capitalism has failed them.  Without their knowledge, with a dick the size of an elephant (in the ephemeral words of counselor Cruise) Trump has fucked all of America.  I have realized in my year of fifty-seven, that war is merited when ignorance threatens the existence of America.  When the ignorant become empowered and prove their inability to lead and sustain America, they must be removed from power by force.  War is justified when the ignorant are in control and are threatening the survival of the populace they govern.  In violent terms this is called revolutionary war, but there are other pseudonyms.  It is not ironic that Sinn Fein no longer about is read.  It is not ironic that the IRA and its political movement and activism have been cloistered.  Big Brother does not want Americans to know that violent overthrow always does not occur on the battlefield.  The modern method of civil overthrow is guerilla.  It has been tried again and again all around the world except on the native soil of North America.  In North America a counter method has been devised to divert any true and honest overthrow of corruption and evil in leadership.  The spin machine has manufactured a side show of domestic instability resulting in what appears to be domestic terrorism, but it is not.  It is a facade disguising what should be the real course of reaction to injustice.  Instead of murdering our own innocent and undeserving citizens in a smoke screen of right wing extremism, we should be seeking out and eliminating elected political leaders who have forsaken their American charges.  We have been scorned and mocked by our leaders in the way Jesus predicted, and we are too stupid and naive to understand.  We must realize who our enemies are and fight them for our own survival.  Whether it becomes violent, far-reaching, and epic is contingent  upon the resistance of these enemies.  We must become enraged.  We must become insulted.  We must become active defending the American way of life and how it is deserved by all people, not just the rich.  We are taught and have an innate desire to be peaceful.  We want security, peace, and serenity, and yet a time has come in American politics where actively we must fight for our own rights.  The enemy is corporate America.

America's Well Armed Militia

So here I go.  I have had some ideas on my mind but not the emotional impetus or mental stamina to formulate a persuasive blog entry.  I'm sure this won't be one, but some things must be said.  First (the way presidential candidates like to stump).  They always make three points when answering a political question prefaced by, "Number one."  "Number two."  "Number three."  With our educational system purposely in shambles, I assume three part answers are all the American people can digest.  They also preface their anxiety-laden answers with, "Look."  It is ridiculous, because what follows is an aural response they requires no visual acuity.  Look at what?  It is an example of bad oration, bad public speaking, and bad debating.  It is fair to say that the fall of America is occurring, and it is not dissimilar to the Fall of the Holy Roman Empire or early Greek society.  It was destined to happen, and now we have it.  George Orwell's "1984" is happening about forty years later.  Donald Trump is Big Brother.  Everything he suggests represents a dismantling and divergence from our United States Constitution.  How Congress handles his impeachment will determine the success or failure of the American Dream.  Each day we are becoming more desensitized to his ideas of communism and a military dictatorship.  Each day, although I do not want to feel this way, the American military becomes a more brainwashed paid fighting force for corporate America.  They are trained to follow orders, because the success of winning a war to protect America's freedom is contingent upon mindlessly following orders.  The disparity of this methodology is, while protecting your wingman is crucial in battle, American patriotism has become an anachronism.  The entire philosophy, the ethos, and the driving force behind military service has disintegrated with the inauguration of Donald Trump as our president.  Patriotism, the sentiment of country, is defunct without a Commander in Chief who understands the United States Constitution, freedom, and the American Dream.  Social and economic mobility are results of these postulates.  America has no example or leadership for patriotism, because our president is a sociopathic liar, a backseat dictator, and a draft dodger.  Our president is a metaphor for the antithesis of the United States Constitution, and we should be afraid.  Our freedom is in jeopardy.  Donald Trump is Big Brother, and the media is mindlessly has been following the same course.  Big Brother is real, and he is here.  One effective solution to this trend is establishing the checks and balances our Constitution requires.  It is imperative that regulation of private business be reestablished, and not by private businessmen masquerading as American leaders.  Perhaps the idea of politicians as policy makers and enforcers is antiquated.  Perhaps the American system has failed in a grievous way, and private citizens working for government have failed uphold their commitments to the populace.  Like the American military it is easy to get distracted, especially when someone as bold as Donald Trump lies so diligently.  If you say it enough, eventual it will become truth.  This is the methodology of Big Brother, and it is happening.  I wish I could feel safe surrounded by the fighting soldiers of the United States Army, but I don't.  I don't, because I do not think they possess the intellectual prowess or emotional empathy to understand for whom they should be fighting.  To them it is just a job.  I believe that is the sentiment of the American people in general.  We are not intellectually capable of understanding patriotism and how it works.  There is little to love of America except distant memories.  We need short term events which become memories to keep our Republic afloat.  Big Brother's plan is to eradicate the historical, conceptual, and philosophical tenants of America held in our Constitution.  America needs to know that someone has our back.  We have yet to become a militaristic oligarchy, a dictatorship, or a communist regime.  We are strikingly close to such an entity.  My plan was to point this out, and I have.  My heartfelt duty is to harp on how America has cheated her people.  Not only are we being neglected through amateur healthcare, we are being poisoned by tainted foods, and murdered by environmental pollution.  People are dying all around me.  Fayetteville is a huge cemetery for those who cannot withstand the fighting methods of the United States army.  Each day a rich sampling of environmental pollution besets the unaware citizens of Cumberland County.  The worst is what I call the "Fayetteville Death Ray."  I will leave it to those in charge  appropriately to acknowledge in actuality what this is.  To my knowledge it is a low frequency wave, either alternating current or electromagnetic which turns on and off at will and responds to aural and emotional energy.  I have known of this entity for many years, and while I tried to escape its grasp living in the hull of a cruise ship in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, it was present there.  It emanates from Cumberland County there is no doubt.  There is no way, with the great masquerade of Ground Forces Command, to pinpoint what it is.  There are too many choices with soldiers training for war so close.  Whether it is phased array radar, acoustical targeting, AC traction, Navy sonar, or the rest, it is killing people.  The cumulative effect of all of this fighting technology has become too much for the biologically weak, and innocent citizens in close proximity to Fort Bragg are dropping like flies.  We are dying, and it is not the purpose of the United States Army to kill those who live close by.  I am sure any member of the Joints Chief of Staff would say otherwise.  We are expendable for the good of America, but America no longer belongs to Americans.  It belongs to Donald Trump and his foreign cronies.  The reason why we can't get rid of guns to lessen murderous violence in America, is because no one trusts the American government including the NRA.  If we do not have our guns, there is nothing stopping America from becoming a military dictatorship like our southern neighbors.  A well armed militia is our last line of defense.

Stupid Presidents

It is difficult to discern whether our former presidents are as stupid as their presidential actions.  The more I learn about recent American history, the more I realize the United States is embroiled in a major crisis of leadership, control, and survival.  Who was the last honest president?  The answer must be Jimmy Carter, because when you look at the cumulative legislative history of the rest the reason for our dire circumstances becomes clear.  It is mind blowing.  The ramification of Bill Clinton's decisions are what we are living today.  I supported this man when he ran in the early 1990's, because he seemed sincere.  Sincerity is no match for effective lobbying.  It would seem most presidents are at the beckon call of corporate America.  Why in the year 2019 are we paying these ridiculous inflated prices for cable service?  The reason is Bill Clinton.  The Telecommunications Act of 1996 was the foundation of the American economy today.  We all know what it is.  Internet technology has taken over, and with that take over and this piece of legislation a media monopoly has been created not unlike George Orwell's predictive "Big Brother."  There even is a TV show named this.  This law which was supposed to create competition in wireless communications instead paved the way for corporate mergers concentrating the flow of America's information into the hands of a few media moguls.  This law destroyed the music industry, and it has yet to recover.  Ken Burns is doing a masterful job pointing out this atrocity.  Bill Clinton, a singular president, single-handedly shifted the American economy into the hands of the internet technology sector.  Consequently we have nothing else.  As the ceiling is approached on the possibilities of wireless innovation, America should have been looking for other commodities.  Traditional ones would have been a good place to start.  Instead of paying off farmers, shorting American workers in favor of a cheap foreign work force, and lining the pockets of a select few we could have been shoring up America.  The puppet strings are so thick no one in America has liberty anymore.  How could it have been a good idea to concentrate the flow of media and information into the hands of a small controlling group of moguls?  Classical music sales died overnight.  Music TV was dismantled in favor of reality TV which instead of paying trained actors exploits the average citizen.  Hip Hop, the last rebellious non conformist music entity died by its own bullets not unlike how jazz died at the bottom of a whiskey bottle.  It was replaced with the most conformist, average, benign music imaginable.  Big Brother securely placed his hands on the shoulders of the millennial generation and said, "Do what I say.  Get in debt.  Get stupid.  Ignore reality."  We have yet to recover.  Extremism walked into America through this concentrated contingency of control.  True America, rebellious and questioning America never knew what hit them.  Now it is undeniable that America is under siege, and grave, dire, and possibly violent means will be needed to restore a balance of power.  This generation is not familiar with the severity of political infighting.  Yes we see petty bickering in Washington, DC, but what we don't see is that same spin machine manufacturing chaos to keep us distracted from the real enemies, politicians.  When was the last time we had an assault on our worthless leaders?  I believe it was a Republican softball game.  Instead of targeting America's real enemies, mentally incompetent pawns are being recruited to incite chaos among the general public.  Even as such our leaders have been unable to provide any leadership.  There is no new gun control legislation.  There is no climate change legislation.  America is spinning backwards in a frightening vortex threatening the very existence of Earth's seeming most powerful nation.  The majority of these consequences have been at the pens of such useless presidents.  Who gave Bill Clinton the right to decide that previously designated dangerous frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum should now become available for auction to wireless telecommunication companies?  There was nothing wrong with our previous system.  The Bell company grew too large to promote competition in its sector, so Washington was prudent enough to break it up.  Then Bill Clinton and George W. Bush turned around and handed America to a select few of extremist ruling oligarchs.  It is a crisis of major proportions, because this faction is in no way concerned with the longevity of our country.  They are trying to destroy it for the sake of our envious, recalcitrant, and vindictive enemies.  Russia, China, and the rest have sneaked in our back door and have been calling the shots for a long time.  It is time for America to recover and to recreate a balanced, fair, and secure nation which is profitable to all citizens.  We cannot become a third world county, because if we do civil war is imminent.

Climate Change

We should get one thing clear.  Our citizenry today is in the dark.  It is wonderful that protests are beginning to take place, people are getting angry and emphatic, and we are trying to take control of our own lives.  This is the way of democrats, not republicans.  Republicans are rich, stuffy, snobby assholes who choose only to interact with their own kind.  It's called snobbery.  The emerging democratic movement needs a clue.  They can protest the United Nations.  They can protest state governments.  They can protest Washington, D.C.  If we lift the veil that has been placed over our eyes by these conniving republicans, then we must see the roots of climate change.  We must see the true causes.  It is not enough to protest the Trump administration.  It is not enough to protest the United Nations.  These administrations have proven themselves impotent, negligent, and evil.  They do not care if we are burning the planet.  They do not care if we are polluting the earth's air and water.  They cannot see past a few years from now, their own immediate gratification, and their own selfish needs.  A moral conscience, a heart, and an acknowledgement of God are necessary to save the Earth.  The true causes of climate change are not the controlling factions of government.  They are the real life businesses which churn for humanity.  Being such it could be difficult to protest them.  If we protest a railroad, whence will our energy come?  If there is no one to haul the coal out of the mountains?  If we protest a cruise line, how will we take our economical vacations?  If we protest an airline, how will we get across the country to visit with our relatives?  It is difficult seeing truth.  The truth is government is not all responsible for climate change.  As the governing power of the military, its Commander and Chief, its Joints Chief of Staff, and the Pentagon they are responsible for global warming caused by an expansion of technology in the military.  If you protest Boeing it is a double edged sword.  They make our passenger jets, but they also make war machines which fly and heat the earth's atmosphere.  Perhaps it is not possible to protest the military.  That will require a responsible president, cabinet, and Pentagon.  Otherwise they will continue to cater to the largest monetary handouts.  The country during the Viet Nam war was not afraid to show their disdain for soldiers killing women and children in the heat of battle.  An entire cultural revolution was born out of this protest, and America needs such a thing now.  We are in the dark.  We have a veil placed over our eyes with an iPhone dangling on a string in front of us.  If we put them down long enough to look around, maybe we will see.  Cruise ships are warming our oceans.  There is no other explanation.  Huge prime movers lodged in the hulls of super liners create heat.  Huge azipods, alternating current drives submerged beneath the surface, create heat.  Exhaust from cruise ships exponentially creates more hydrofluorocarbons than cars on land.  Worse of all the recently expanded rail industry, of which Warren Buffet bought in, largely is responsible for producing heat and forcing it around the globe like a huge convection oven.  Citizens would be reluctant to criticize such powerful entities and men, because we are worried about our own survival.  We are reliant upon their services or are we?  Man proved that he is incapable of running a large scale nuclear power plant.  Too many corners were cut.  Too many short cuts were taken at the eventual expense of humanity.  Chernobyl and Three Mile Island were great disasters, and as such we lost an invaluable resource.  Cheap electricity.  I don't know what these railroads are hauling, but I know the GE ES44AC is an enemy of the environment not only because they produce heat and force it around the globe, but because they leak electricity.  If anyone were to walk up to one and hit it with a digital thermometer the jig would be up.  The rumor is in Chicago if you live by the tracks, you can stick a fluorescent bulb out the window and it will light up when one of these locomotives comes by.  This is not good, airborne alternating current.  Airborne AC creates heat and vibration, especially in the low frequency range.  Low frequency, this is the problem.  This is a problem not only for its effects on climate change, but for its effects on psychology.  The brain operates in this range, alpha, beta, and theta waves.  If these waves are interrupted or bombarded with extraneous energy, they will respond.  That is what we have now, minds being controlled by machines which are being controlled by an unknowing and uncaring contingency.  They know not what they do.  These are the entities tangibly which are creating climate change or global warming.  Lift the veil of hallucinogenics and stare directly into the void.  It will be obvious.  Our responsibility as a concerned populace is to do something.

Deconstruction

What is it about Fayetteville other than Fort Bragg that deserves the pseudonym "Fayettenam?"  In proceeding decades of my lifetime (from 1962)  there have been moments of calm on the home front.  The obvious time period is after Richard Nixon got us out of Viet Nam for good.  We pulled out of Viet Nam around 1975.  While the late 70's were wrought with strife for me, because I was bused across town to a predominantly black junior high school, war time activities were coming to a close.  Then Ronald Reagan was elected president.  He was a Hollywood film actor.  A film actor became the American president.  Whether you agree with Reaganomics or not, during his tenure as president things were calm in America.  Until Bush Senior decided to start the first television war defending Kuwait against Saddam Hussein's hostile invasion, things were relatively calm.  There I said it.  W. did want to get back at Saddam Hussein, although he had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks on New York city's twin towers.  It was opportunism.  Rumsfeld, whom they dumped, and Dick Cheney were part of one of the most egregious political acts in American history.  They convinced George W. Bush to destroy a middle eastern country, and single handedly created ISIS or ISIL.  There was a Taliban.  There was Jihad.  There was the ayatollah.  Jimmy Carter was humiliated as he left office freeing the Iran hostages, so Iran is a trouble maker.  Did they attack Saudi Arabia?  I think not.  Ask the simple question, "Who has drones?"  If they have drones, then we sold them to them.  Who comes to mind?  Israel.  Bibi who also seems to be leaving office in a pattern for Donald Trump.  Corruption charges after they leave office.  Is there any way possible with what has transpired in America that the Donald could win re-election?  If he does, it will prove the system is corrupt to the core and is being manipulated in some way.  Voting machines.  Bribing electors.  All we can hope is that he is on the way out.  Before BRAC, Base Realignment and Closure, Fort Bragg had a sizeable military footprint.  It increased during Desert Storm.  What were twenty thousand troops became fifty, what we have now in addition to thousands of contractors.  Their imprint is sizeable, because Ground Forces command came because of BRAC.  Those high paid high ranking military generals didn't want to come to 'Nam, because Fayetteville is lacking in the most basic human amenities.  There are no jazz clubs.  There is not much up scale activity in a small southern town that would be lost without Fort Bragg soldiers dollars.  On what did they once spend those dollars?  Drugs, alcohol, and prostitution on Hay St.  There is a real question if Fayettenam is now better or worse because of Bill Hurley's clean up of downtown.  I don't really understand it.  Instead of catering to the needs of the military, which whether we like it or not may be drugs, alcohol, and prostitution, instead the far right has implemented their influence on American society mostly eliminating most of the great strides of American freedoms.  We are not hip.  We are not cool.  We are so conservative that a fart can barely emerge from our tight white asses.  "Watch whitey try to dance."  The rule of chaos.  If people feel good, you can't control them.  They have independence.  They have serenity.  I have been watching Eminem videos recently produced by Dr. Dre, and never have I seen a more candid, sardonic, needed social American discourse.  These videos have more insight, wisdom, and entertainment value than anything available today, and somebody just decided that it was over.  Music videos, these pioneering small vignettes of musical expression, overnight were extinguished because somebody wanted it.  They just said, "Let's nuke Hollywood and start over."  Fight Club.  What filled that vacuum of creativity was insipid, contrived, and conformist fodder.  We still have it.  Counter culture dug its head in the sand.  Dave and Craig quit network TV at the same time.  What a void!  Jon Stewart is scurrying madly to try to make Colbert seem palatable.  While they are eager to Trump bash at the onset, no one can replace the talent of former late night show hosts David Letterman, Craig Ferguson, Jay Leno, Johnny Carson, and the rest.  Like the death of music television overnight, late night suffered from the same plight.  Like American jazz music these idioms reached their peaks and then just disappeared.  America is struggling for any replacement.  It is because we are not hip.  We are a sterilized, unfeeling, damaged lot of third world Americans who have been abandoned by Republica.  This scourge of money men, Mitch included, need to defend their views and policies on the chopping block of angered and disillusioned poor Americans.  It has happened before in many other countries.  How has Fayettenam changed as a result of BRAC?  It has not been good.  The affluent always have traveled to the beach or the mountains on the weekends leaving Fayettenam to its own devices.  What are they?  The military industrial complex which is supported by private contractors.  They have not interest in or support for the local populace.  They are vultures gobbling up a town for their own perseverance.  What do we have on weekends?  We have rail activity.  This rail activity seems to be watched over by aviation activity in various forms.  Yesterday for the very first time I actually saw the Compass Call aircraft with its 360 fuselage born radar.  It has the ability to monitor and scramble all kinds of electronic activity by its enemy, but who is that?  Usually it is an FBI shell plane with a muffler which beginning on Saturday mornings drones incessantly over the tree tops in Fayettenam.  To this day we still do not know what it is doing.  I assume it is related to CSX Corp.  It used to badger me pretty well as does the Gulfstream jet that takes a shit over my yard a few times every day.  I just wave.  It is like no man's land, and that my friends is why America is on drugs.  Rail traffic is at an unprecedented level, and CSX posted first quarter earnings of over eight hundred million dollars.  That is almost a billion dollars in only three months, and the major interest in that company is a hedge fund owner.  We know who controls what in America, and our quality of life never will be the same.  We may be the land of the free and the home of the brave, but the invisible pollution in our atmosphere would kill the holy Roman empire.  No one will acknowledge it both sound and electricity.  It is destructive.  The man expunged good sounds and vibrations and replaced them with manipulative, murderous, mind altering chaos.  Deconstruction has begun.

The Fall of Trump

If it seems like I always am complaining about Fayettenam, then there is a reason for her pseudonym.  Fayettenam.  Old school Fayettevillians are really offended by this term.  In a capitalist society like America people always are concerned about income.  Income is earned in various ways, but in the system of capitalism it would seem people are looking for ways to sell.  By selling there is the potential to earn a profit.  They always want to buy our house.  Why?  The answer is because instead of benefiting the homeowner with equity and income savings, it will earn someone else a profit.  This is not the best methodology, always selling something.  Things were different in previous decades in America.  There was a time when democrats were in control, and as such they could make decisions concerning their quality of life.  They would not necessarily be trying to sell everything to make a profit, because money is not the root of happiness.  It helps, but you can be rich and unhappy.  Happiness comes from security, a sense that your needs are taken care of.  When your needs are provided for then you have the time to nurture your own happiness building relationships, developing interests, and indulging in spirituality.  It is possible to be happy without security, and some are quite adebt at capitalizing upon the vagabond lifestyle.  No security, no real responsibilities to demand your time.  Carefree.  The "Hippy" movement which originated in the 1970's mostly as a reaction to the Viet Nam war could be an example of this freedom.  Freedom from constraint.  Freedom from "the man."  Freedom from tyranny.  Security is good, and we all need a bit of it.  With security and an understanding of security comes a more relaxed and slow paced lifestyle.  One is not forced into the rat race each day to earn his keep.  Sink or swim.  Exist.  Isn't that nice, not having to be desperate for one's survival?  Isn't that when artistic things emerge?  Not necessarily.  Some great art is a direct result of strife and angst.  It is an outlet and a therapy such as the music the blues.  The bottom line is there must be enough time to focus on things other than one's survival.  Enter Fayettenam.  Security means most likely owning your own home, and interesting enough Bill Clinton ran under this campaign promise.  Even more interestingly this small campaign promise was the root of the housing crisis which peaked with the recession of 2008.  When he, as a presidential candidate, suggested everyone in America should be able to own their own home, the real estate and banking industries checked their consciences and began handing out mortgages and loans to mostly non vetted recipients.  They doled out mortgages by the boatload to unqualified candidates getting Americans into debt.  At that particular time money was plentiful, and India and China were selling us money at a reasonable cost.  Credit was plentiful and it was offered to the most financially undeserving citizens.  To boot the mortgages were written so the payments would escalate at a later date.  Not more payments but the amounts of the monthly payments increased.  Most of these mortgage holders defaulted on their loans, and thus you had "The Big Short."  Wall Street created financial instruments which pooled and sold their mortgages, and the hedge fund was born.  A few savvy Wall Street brokers knew what was going to happen having read these mortgages, and bet against the American economy.  There wasn't even a financial instrument available to do such a thing, but eagerly the bankers obliged.  All they had to do was ride the wave until it happened.  The stock market collapsed having been based upon false speculation rather than sound investment.  The snake oil salesmen of Wall Street were responsible.  What  happened?  George W. Bush created the Troubled Assets Relief Program.  Hank Paulson urged the president not to let Wall Street banks absorb the loss.  He claimed millions of Americans would lose faith in the American capitalist system and the nation would fail.  Instead W. reached his hand into America's till, and paid off this prudent investors who knew what was coming.  That is when all of America's money disappeared almost overnight.  It has been gone ever since sheltered in overseas banks in Switzerland or in Grand Camen.  Capitalism cannot function when there is no money to circulate.  It has to cycle for capitalism to work.  Earn.  Spend.  Make money.  Spend money.  Because the holders of this money fail to reinvest it back into America, we have become a third world country.  When is life good in America?  When we have security, opportunity, and money.  It is a good lifestyle, and we no longer have it.  Instead people in America are struggling to make ends meet, because Republicans who have risen to power in Washington do not care about the middle and lower class.  They have crippled the socio-economic system of Capitalism by separatism and elitism.  Hence we have a third world country, a county of elite wealthy leaders and the rest of us, the impoverished.  Apartheid in South Africa is a good example of this failed permutation.  Without knowing it America has become the same.  Our jobs are menial, strenuous, and low paying.  Hence our lifestyles reflect this dynamic.  There is no time for enlightenment, art, or spirituality.  Instead we have magnified violence, and this is the way Republica wants it.  Keep the people in chaos, so you can control them.  Does anyone really believe that ordinary America teenagers are committing genocide?  They are being coached by whichever covert agency is responsible, the same one that was responsible for murdering John Lennon.  He was a thorn in Nixon's side for a long time, a peaceful, successful, spiritual public figure who was accruing too much public influence.  They decided to kill him.  This pattern of coached behavior is terrorism, and it is being instigated by the same jihadists who have infiltrated America from the inside.  They are in the television industry.  They are in media.  They, the extremists, are waging a campaign to keep America insecure, because when we are secure, the rich cannot become richer.  Although Eisenhower fervently did not want America to become an economy of war, it gets the system moving like Hammond organ oil.  Without our original system, the system which created and provided jobs through manufacturing, services, and farming, tangible money making processes, we can never be the same.  There simply are not enough jobs for America at Walmart.  Back in the day when the system was working for us, life was better.  Fayettenam was rolling in the money from Fort Bragg.  The media would have you believe that still it is happening, a billion dollars a day or even more from these military dollars.  America cannot survive on war and the preparation for war.  There has to be more.  There has to be a higher cause, a higher power, and a higher goal.  There must be a God.  Fayettenam is called this because living here feels like the Viet Nam war.  The 82nd Airborne, Americas go to fighting force which can deploy in less than 48 hours to anywhere in the world, this is their junk yard.  Perhaps Desert Storm was a good thing, although it defies all logic and morality.  We destroyed Iraq with a made up premise, because Dick Cheney wanted Saddam Hussein's oil.  Never will the world recover from such an aggressive and evil act.  There were no weapons of mass destruction, and at the moment our current president is in the process of providing our troops to the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks, the lower Saudi royals.  These people should not be our allies.  They are our enemies, and the little games that are being played to raise oil prices are like a juvenile board game.  It is time for the adults to take control and discipline the children beginning with the impeachment of Donald Trump.

Things That Never Change

Where shall I begin?  McCready lost.  He couldn't overcome the influence of Gump in Hicksville, U.S.A, people with such a deep denial and ignoring of truth they prefer to revel in their own patriotic naivete.  Will these people inherit the earth?  They are not meek.  They are aggressive in their own self worth like high school quarterbacks and cheerleaders.  "Rah rah!"  The problem is they know nothing.  You can't argue with stupid.  Let's reflect for a moment on the total ineptitude of our federal government.  Not only has the deficit reached epic record breaking proportions, our current Republican biased caucus seems to thing that regulation or oversight or protection are processes better left to?  Not parents.  Not teachers.  Not doctors.  Not insurance executives.  State governments?  Is it there responsibility to address the vaping crisis?  State versus federal watchdog programs that are supposed to ensure the security and safety of Americans.  Instead teens are dying of something as insipid as sucking on a nicotine nebulizer.  This is immediate.  It is not lung cancer developing over many years.  It is immediate death from a commercially available and marketed product, which needs to be prohibited.  Prohibition.  If ever a case was in your face for prohibition of something, it is the vaping crisis.  Opioid addiction is a crisis, and people are overdosing from it.  It has taken a few years to develop.  Vaping is now.  It is immediate, and the CDC and Congress need to do their jobs.  Republicans would argue that the federal government's role is to stay out of the lives of capitalists.  What is the FDA?  What is the FCC?  What is the EPA.  Are they shell companies registered to fake users taking bribes to allow children to die?  When Congress allowed the Assault Weapons Ban to expire in 2004, they became responsible for the deaths of all of those killed by such weapons.  Congress is responsible.  If it is the state governments role to oversee, regulate, and protect citizenry then what do the feds do?  They create a record-breaking national debt by outsourcing American goods and services, taking advantage of legal loopholes, and keeping themselves in power.  Sound familiar?  Sound like North Korea?  Sound like Red China?  Talk about a bacchanal.  Let's have a rally and talk shit and enjoy our own company and then watch our planet burn into nothingness.  It is for these people Christians were created.

Unsatisfying Orgasms.

Things are not much different than the way there were back in the day, say 1985 except that B.S. has taken over the music industry.  There was a contingency then, the frat boys who thought they could play music.  I didn't know it then, but they were playing pop.  To this day in America we are so ignorant, there is no recognized definition of the word "pop" in music except that it is fluffy, light, and appealing. Is "pop" short for popular, or like the word "Bop," is it onomatopoeia?  "Pop."  Pee pop.  I used to think it was short for the word popular.  What makes music popular anyway?  It is so vague.  After working on cruise ships (and this seems to be my common thread tonight) I learned first hand that pop music isn't just a title.  It is a musical style markedly different than anything I ever had been exposed to.  That is because it comes from the strumming of a guitar.  It belies the traditional musical training of Kodaly, Suzuki, the orchestra, or jazz.  Certainly it is not taught by classical piano teacher, but pop seemingly has infiltrated mainstream music.  In fact it has taken over what is left of our airwaves.  I remember when it came in.  I was studying music composition at OSU.  Rob Taylor, Dr. Robert Taylor that is, was the head of the music library's media center.  Being in charge of buying recording media for the library, he scowled at the new onset of crappy music.  Classical music sales dropped overnight like the extinction of skateboarding in the 1960's.  Suddenly New Country became Pop/Country and Garth Brooks morphed into sexualized images of hunky, dirty, hillbilly men.  This image has persevered.  The reality of "Pop" is that it is an actual musical style, and that can be witnessed by the body language of those playing it.  It has been exploited to the Nth degree with cartoons bobbing up and down to this inane rhythm.  I did believe for a while that Motown was guilty of creating the mainstream version of pop music, but when you hear Motown it does not groove in the same pocket.  Pop can be played well, and usually it it fused with rock.  When it is not played well it simply is that.  Its rhythm or feel is not genuine.  It is created by the repetitive and stupid rhythm of strumming on a guitar.  That isn't much of a groove.  In fact it is no groove at all, and that is dance is dead in America.  People can't dance to pop.  There is nothing there for them to dance to.  For dance to occur there has to be a discernible pattern mostly in the the bass that their foot movements will mimic.  Steps they are called.  America has lost this connection, therefore it is understandable that our youth have become a soulless, unfeeling, unsatisfied, incapable flock of sheep.  In most probability they do not want to remain this way, but until we apply the proper punishment for that horrible strumming pattern ignorance will prevail.  It takes more to make good music.  It takes engagement, emotional commitment, and masculinity.  Highly I recommend we make the strum, the up and down bobbing of hillbilly men the new hell.  Instead of a bevy of accordian players, or fiddle players, or lawyers it will be hillbilly men strumming their guitars in dire angst but without the knowledge of how to get off.  Thank you.

Scratching Our Heads at American Ingenuity

When you work on a cruise ship most people think you live a life of leisure.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Nothing could be further from the truth that cruise ships, the ever-expanding cruise ship multi billion dollar industry, largely is not responsible for Hurricane Dorian.  I do not mean to make enemies of my former employers, but it must be said.  When President Donald Trump repeatedly says he never has heard of a category five hurricane, it doesn't take a boatload of logic to understand what is super heating our oceans.  It is why the coral reefs are dying.  Just say it!  Cruise ships largely are responsible for this ocean warming.  The super heated water fuels these newly created super storms.  Super super.  Marsha.  Marsha.  What would a well schooled, prudent, and intelligent Congress do?  They would enact not a carbon tax, but an oxygen tax.  Each diesel prime mover which burns our precious Amazon created oxygen will be monitored and not taxed, but simply according to the rules of Capitalism CHARGED for their use of the earth's oxygen.  Why is this not the case now?  A car engine is a bit different, and possibly we pay this fee when we purchase the vehicle.  Large diesel prime movers which burn tons of oxygen and replace it with carbon, why are they not paying?  It's a loophole.  Simple laws for simple living.  The point of this entry was not to shed light on who is warming out oceans.  Once it was the military.  The huge hole in the ozone of which we hear nothing anymore....  Navy transmitter communicating with submarines.  HAARP.  High altitude whatever...  Figuring out how to build and use a phased array radar but in the microwave or infrared frequencies.  Figuring out how to carry your music collection around while living on a ship.  My first solution was to put CD's in sleeves in a notebook.  I had two large notebooks, and this worked well.  Then iPods came into vogue.  Audio quality became moot but portability made up for it.  I slid every single CD into the multi-drive of my Mac laptop and imported it into iTunes.  It was convenient.  I listened this way for a long time, and it was satisfactory.  Then I became landlocked.  My ship born ways took a long time to correct themselves.  I am not even sure they have become correct, but they have reverted back to a proceeding time.  It is difficult to take a decade of musical growth, accomplishment, and transformation and put it into the closet.  I have done this before.  When I was working on the DMA degree at The OSU, and this was before they decided they wanted to become "The" Ohio State University, I had to shelve my jazz proclivities and focus on 20th century art music.  It was not that difficult, because ironically enough jazz music rose up and bit me in the arse.  So many years of submersion in the jazz aesthetic brainwashed me into believing that jazz was the only music.  Thus its lifestyle, its dynamic, and its rewards were the only musical gifts.  Sadly I was disappointed.  After a successful tenure at the University of South Carolina as a Graduate Teaching Associate and an adjunct faculty member I fell from grace.  I am not really sure what happened, but music was not all of it.  Jazz upchucked as did Columbia, and I was spewed out in an orangy mass back to Fayettenam trying to recreate myself.  It didn't work, and I bailed on the military hot spot.  This was a point I meant to write about earlier, the history of Fayettenam before it became only a military town.  "Once Upon a Time in America" in a small southern town Fayetteville hosted its own plantation elite.  There was big money in 'Nam and it was had by a few families.  They congregated at Highland Country Club.  They lived on Skye Drive with an "e." Before BRAC, Base Realignment and Closure, decided to make Fayetteville the new Baghdad there was a quality of life in Fayetteville that was akin to southern Texas.  We had our coastline, the outer banks, and the Intercoastal Waterway.  We had fresh seafood, Myrtle Beach, and shag music.  There was everything you needed for a high quality of life, at least for yuppies.  You could drink beer out of a keg in a plastic cup, dance with your wife, and listen to beach music in the safe confines of a gated golf club.  No more.  Those families have died out and along with them most of their earned wealth.  Luckily much of it has gone to entitlements for the arts in Cumberland County.  That lifestyle, that 80's epic soap opera existence laced with mall hair and pop fashion died in the fuel tanks of CSX's diesel prime movers.  Thirst quenching, bubbly, intoxicating spirits were replaced with the fumes of diesel fuel.  The mammoth machines rolled into 'Nam and raped and pillaged everything in their paths.  CSX consumed Fayetteville with a well produced belch.  Anyone will be hard pressed to take away their daily diet of carbs.  Their Candida Albicans will find you either through the air, the earth, or water and use your body parts for fuel.  Chemours will continue to genetically modify your existing DNA with cancerous mutations and all the while notifying the EPA of their irresponsibility.  What has this world come to?

The Second American Revolution

America is so different.  I didn't pay attention much, but there was some reason why I choose to accept a cruise ship piano job.  I needed musical employment, and lo and behold a cruise ship job was just the ticket.  It was a ticket out, not that I was looking for that.  To find rare commercial piano work one must travel.  Perhaps at one time, "Once Upon a Time in America," the better days, the days of yore.... there were more opportunities.  Today there are few.  The prolific studio orchestras of Hollywood have been put on Defcon 4.  These studio musicians are scampering to and from their clandestine work in tunnels not unlike the tunnels at Disney World for its employees.  With their heads down and their instruments under their arms they scurry to their sessions trying their best not to bring attention to themselves.  This is the musical way.  The music industry in America never has been fair.  At one time it was honest, and then in the great model of capitalism a team of businessmen came along and turned it into what it became, a financial powerhouse.  They created an image, an aesthetic, which tapped into the soul of burgeoning America.  This was a good thing.  What was their tool?  What was the watershed, record setting, groundbreaking tool which transformed America?  We all have but forgotten.  It was radio.  Not internet radio.  I can't believe I am speaking about radio like it was a thing of the past, an antiquated dinosaur, a turn of the century invention made from string and chewing gum that unified the country and created a mainstream that made America great.  It was this unification, this camaraderie, this commonly felt sentiment which constructed the heart of America.  Now we have an orange colored snake oil salesman, who has no clue how to do anything on the level.  Maybe he can earn a few bucks from declaring bankruptcy, but certainly he has nary a skill or an idea of how to implement any change for America except to kill us.  It is like putting a toddler in control of an assembly line.  The sooner Gump is removed from the presidency the sooner America will start to recover from his violence provoking, racist, separatist agenda.  It is unbelievable really.  It is unbelievable how grass roots ideas, well thought ideas with solutions in mind can achieve success.  America could save the planet, but for some reason it is not in vogue to do so.  Instead an executive board of demons sit in Wall Street and Washington offices breathing fire onto America because they can.  The utter destruction of America is their agenda.  These demons are not from around here.  They are not local yokels.  They are Russians, and Japs, and Chinese.  They are the once enemies of America, those who have attacked us not that long ago in attempted siege of the free world.  It was not that long ago that real storm troopers ravaged the countryside killing innocent citizens in the name of the Third Reich.  In America we do not remember this.  It was not that long ago hundreds of thousands of Jewish citizens were slaughtered in a mass genocide by the German military.  It was not that long ago that Great Britain decided they would not accept the sovereignty of the emerging colonies in North America.  They sent their storm troopers here on ships in red coats to rape and pillage Americans.  We decided otherwise, and what was our last line of defense against the invading British army?  The answer was a well-armed militia but with powder and ball muskets, horse sense, and determination.  Newly emerging America did not have assault rifles with high capacity clips.  Instead they had themselves and their families and the support of the Almighty to defeat the imperial rule of the British.  England has never been the same.  What are we now?  We are a flock of sheep with no direction, no plan, and no understanding.  We subsist day to day, from moment to moment, staring into our iPhones hoping for completion.  It is far too difficult to fathom revolution, again.

The AR-15

As hurricane Dorian looms in the distance, Gump clips on Colbert repeatedly prosecute the case for climate change.  Catagory 5?  "I've never even heard of a catagory 5 hurricane."  It is infuriating.  Ineptitude.  The worst lame duck presidency possibly in the history of this nation, and he has yet to be voted out of office.  Also prosecuting the case for the demise of Christianity, a media and populace which engage passively while spectator politics rules the ratings at the expense of humanity.  Humans are dying in mass quantities.  Every day another searing and antagonistic blow to American sensibility, and passively Congress collects their pay.  You have two choices.  Really understand the direness of the Trump charade, the threatening of the planet and Christianity, or hide our heads in our iPhones.  It is obvious what the majority of America has chosen to do.  The only more potent satire I can recall is the news broadcasts in the film Robocop.  It is infuriating.  The Assault Weapons ban of 1994 never should have been let to expire.  Even with constitutional guarantees no American needs to own an assault weapons or high capacity magazines.  The only reason we we do is because of capitalism.  Possibly a handful of old school American survivalists want to own them.  They build their own underground bunkers and practice nuclear war.  The rest of America, addicted to substances and brainwashed by a lackluster public education system and tainted media, own AR styled rifles simply because they think their rights to own such a weapon are in jeopardy.  It is a common ploy, and American capitalism is rife with similar selling schemes.  We are being manipulated on a grand scale by Big Brother himself.  No one truly thinks about their existence, what is right and appropriate, and how we should live.  We react to the bombardment of frenetically-paced media meant to scare us.  Turn off the tube, the wire, or others and you will find yourself in a different universe, except in Fayettenam.  A different thread.  A small southern town which at one time was not just another Jacksonville, a boulevard lined with strip malls and strip clubs.  The history of Fayettenam is unique.  Given an opportunity to comment on Fayetteville those outside of Fayetteville old money will tell the truth.  What is the truth?  The truth has changed and not that long ago.  Bill Hurley decided to clean up Fayetteville, and with that colloquial cleansing came a vacuum.  The vacuum was downtown.  Cross Creek Mall successfully killed the shopping district of downtown, and that was okay.  When it was built Cross Creek Mall was the pinnacle human achievement and expression.  It was a metaphor of the 1980's.  Gump is the metaphor of the 2000's.  Cross Creek Mall offered an upscale, rewarding, and fun shopping experience.  Whether pundits want to critique Reaganomics or not, businesses back then did invest back into their companies.  Unlike today they took a portion of their profits and shored up their businesses by reinvesting in infrastructure and labor.  By labor I mean subsidizing a financially sustainable work force.  This is the major tenet America has discarded in lieu of corporate wealth.  For some reason the controlling oligarchy of America erroneously feels compelled to collect, store, and control all of the money.  Capitalism cannot work this way.  With no money to flow through the system of goods and services, no one can purchase any goods and services.  It is questionable if America even has any goods and services anymore.  Manufacturing has been bused overseas to migrant labor camps.  Skilled professions have been replaced by laptop computers.  Our food is imported from foreign green houses.  If one were to scrutinize American ports, it is said there if very little going out.  Everything is coming in, and evidently with Gump's latest tariffs, it is coming from Red China.  This is not news.  We have watched globalization come to fruition under the ruse of economic opportunity.  When Americans do not have enough money to buy goods, we should sell to other countries.  When Facebook and Google can't seem to earn revenue from its American users they sell political ad's to Russian shell user accounts.  It is opportunism at its best and worst.  The problem is without conservation and oversight, we could hunt and fish Alaska into ruin.  America is on the brink of the same phenomenon.  We have been picked clean to the bone, and the only way to survive is to begin again with a reorganization of socioeconomic priorities with human beings at the center.  We are far from that now.  Instead we are an army of androids with a small amount of expendable capital.  The oligarchy takes it, and in a few short decades the American landscape will be littered with homeless, derelict, angry mutants.  The rich will be living in the air or underground creating the clean air and water they need to survive.  Creating anarchy in the sake of profit is nothing new.  The AR-15 sales boom was a direct result of mass shootings.  How can we rationalize such a reaction?  When the government threatens to take away a particular constitutional rights, America reacts aggressively.  The Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 never should have been allowed to expire, and those who allowed that to happen largely are responsible for the deaths of the hundreds of innocents souls murdered in recent American mass shootings.  If those AR-styled rifles were not available, then it would not have been possible to kill as many people at one fell swoop.  Period.  America does not need and never needed assault weapons, and there is only one reason why we have them.  It is because they make someone a profit.

The Age of Electricty

Since I have not been drinking hard liquor after the dinner hour, I have had a notable but not cathartic change in psyche.  Evidently it is true what they say about recovering from addictive substances.  There is way more to it than just the physical addiction.  Never have I had the physical addiction to alcohol.  I can stop imbibing alcohol at the drop of a hat, and usually my body has no serious repercussions.  It has been a blessing not being a category alcoholic.  In actuality liquor has saved my mental psyche more than once.  When I ran into depression the first time, when I left Columbia, South Carolina with my tail between my legs in shame for a failed relationship, alcohol did not present itself as an anodyne.  All it did was make me more tired.  All it ever really does it accentuate your given mood.  If you are up and happy, it augments this mood.  If you are down, well I don't remember.  Alcohol is a depressant, so you figure it out.  What I do know from a jazz musician's perspective is that alcohol is very effective at canceling the anxiety created by our environment.  Of what do I speak?  Life no more is like the 1980's when America in particular was the human's support group.  Everything about life in the 80's was about humanity.  Maybe the 80's were the real "Me" decade.  It hasn't been said really.  When I use the word humanity I mean concerning human expression, and during that time humanity as a whole still was Christian.  America had just emerged from the long decade of Viet Nam, and this country was ready for some humanity.  No more baby killing.  No more napalm.  No more war rallies.  Somehow the space time continuum aligned, Reaganomics took hold, and what some people call excess in the human condition flourished.  Everything about the 80's was human.  Our entire existence spiraled around human vision, artistry, and accomplishment.  Film, music, and television grew wings.  Fashion never has found a more receptive niche.  Things were beautiful.  Beauty was all around us.  Beautiful images.  Beautiful sounds.  Beautiful people.  As far as I recall good was preeminent.  Things were good.  No, things were great, at least for me anyway.  They were not easy, but I was in school working towards my goal of becoming an accomplished musician.  Today often I find myself returning to the aesthetic of the 80's out of desperation, because there is nothing out there today to feed our human inclinations.  The Summer of 2019 was an epic failure in film.  Music is at an all time ignorance.  Fashion up and left America a long time ago.  What is left is a shell of wannabe posers including our patron saint, The Donald.  If we had to create a metaphor of today for America, it would be Donald Trump, the biggest poser in America's history.  Luckily people are catching on.  When civilization is faced with extinction, B.S. doesn't walk.  No matter how much Wall Street fags move American debt around using hedge funds, and no matter how much hedge fund owners own in stock options, never will they take the place of real human artistry.  Artistry in music, film, television, and the rest.  America has been riding on the coat tails of the pseudo tech boom for too long, and it never really has been a tech boom at all.  It was an internet boom, and it was inevitable.  The taking of radio and television by the rogue free wire was inevitable, and Congress has yet to catch up with it.  It is yet another issue which demands dire legislative action, scrutiny, organization and regulation like so many other issues which have masterminded the demise of the American Dream.  We are living in a cesspool of the rich's feces, and they are laughing as the planet earth sinks into it.  Truly you could not define evil more aptly than a contingency of rule and power that cares naught for its populace.  Instead like Sodom and Gomorrah they will die in flames as our planet flails madly to survive.  This is when it become clear what our challenge is.  Like the LGBT community, while deserving in the eyes of Christianity, humanity cannot create its own universe.  The universe was created for us by God.  The rules are His.  It is blasphemous to suggest a new human order championing homosexuality.  It is wrong, but like past president Bill Clinton suggested, "Don't ask, don't tell."  Keep it to yourself, because it is private.  Using only your sexuality as a basis for your existence is shallow and cheap.  Get over it.  The God given dynamic of love, physical, psychological, and spiritual is found in the dynamic between man and woman, and that has been lost in America.  The LGBT community, man haters, women haters, and the rest covertly have created possibly the greatest diversion in American history.  Instead of trying to unify America, they like so many other factions are guilty of separatism.  They are attempting to separate American values in an all ready separated nation.  We have so little holding us together, we can only ask we are we a nation?  Mass killings each day?  Only small men see only past their own needs.  Our Congress is the most castrated, effeminate, incapable collection of old white men in existence.  It should have become clear much sooner that this body of evil is and will be the downfall of America.  As I grow older and do not have alcohol to dim reality, things are become starkly realistic.  I find myself wanting to understand all of American history, because it explains the human condition which so carefully was planned and prepared by our forefathers.  Their work was successful until Y2K.  This seems to be the turning point for the demise of America.  The tech boom or rather the "Electronic Age," an age of rampant airborne electricity will be the death of us.

The Dog Days of Summer in 'Nam

The standing wave in our home will not dissipate until the record-breaking heat subsides.  Is it the other way around?  The record-breaking heat will not subside until the standing wave in our home which largely is responsible for the amassing of this heat dissipates.  Koch is dead, fifty-eight billion dollars worth.  His companies funded attacks on environmental controls.  Better that he exited this earth still while it is cool enough upon which to live.  In a few years it will not be.  The likes of the Koch brothers, greed addicted devils, will torch this earth with a mighty roar.  They will laugh will they do it, and it is our responsibility to stop them.  Careless disregard.  It feels like the weight of the world, and it is.  It's a bit much to face each day, the ensuing end of our planet.  What is more disturbing is the sheer farce of watching Donald Trump revel in his own senility.  Economically depressed areas in North Carolina.  Rocky Mount.  Lumberton.  Hamlet.  Contrary to popular belief cultural and economic growth are intertwined.  Not for the Koch brothers who have enough money to live as they please.  For the rest of us it has become survival of the fittest.  There is no economic prosperity.  We just have to make it one day at a time.  The oligarchs hold all of the purse strings.  Crooked Republican statehouse members in Raleigh control the rest.  Dubious are their concerns.  Fifty million for a Civil War museum.  Without honest governmental regulation the populace is headed back to slavery.  Our internet bill, basic internet service crept up to $85.00 a month.  The month they went up mysteriously that statement was not available.  Our TV service double in price and then went up another twenty dollars while declining greatly in service.  It was missing one of the three main local networks!  After months of reflection we made the change, and while the service is a vast improvement the channel line up it a nightmare, on purpose.  They want you to be confused so you will stream.  They want you to be confused so you will "Upgrade Now."  Immediate gratification.  Push a button for happiness.  Now!  Not thoughtful planning and implementation of your invested money.  I will crack this nut, cable TV, again, but it will take time and a concerted effort.  The sound and picture quality vastly are better.  No service drop outs when it rains, and it is a better bundled price.  We got an upgraded modem.  Knock wood.  How does one create a favorites list?  Our upstairs attic is an inspector's dream.  R-38 blown in over brand new ducts.  The bathroom vents have flex tube extensions, and there are polyvents in the eaves so the attic can breathe through its ridge vent.  That attic is finished.  No more work to be done.  Now if the military industrial activity would lessen.  You would think our neighborhood is Compton.  The scrutiny we receive from the air is constant.  Each morning when I am jolted from sleep either by a strafing jet, a trolling Cessna, or artillery fire I wonder what gives?  A major selling points of GE's heavy haul locomotives is they transmit engine diagnostics to a satellite for interpretation by Ground Forces Command.  I mean GE Central.  I mean headquarters.  I mean CSX Corp. in Jacksonville.  Like the Army practicing in the field, they use Cessnas to relay communications from the battlefield to satellites.  These little trolling planes that never seem to go away, either relaying engine diagnostics or battlefield logistics...  Why do they seem to favor our neighborhood?  Why during this entire heat wave in August has their been a non stop "standing wave" in our home?  I already know I can feel the Aberdeen and Rockfish locomotives when they ramble by.  Back in the day the sneaked over to Fayetteville and in the middle of the might built a crossover across what were Atlantic/Seaboard Coastline tracks.  They were ruthless in their pursuit of the dollar.  It's not the Aberdeen and Fayetteville, but the majority of their contracts are here.  River Terminal they call it.  Natural gas.  Scrap metal.  Hexion.  Valley Proteins.  They commute to Da Ville, make their money, and amble home to Southern Pines.  That is pretty opportunist.  How tolerates those clanking, knocking, vibrating antiquated GP engines each day?  The citizens of Fayetteville, not the citizens of Southern Pines.  Why does Norfolk Southern send two of their largest engines to Fayetteville to pick up and handful of freight cars?  I mean mammoth, hulking, powerful road engines.  Most people don't know that Fayetteville is an industrial park of which Fort Bragg is the largest client.  Who provides aviation fuel for the base?  Is it the Kochs?  Does anyone know that Cargill's vegetable oil plant is right across the Cape Fear River?  How do they produce this oil?  Heat.  How does Valley Proteins render animal carcasses?  Heat.  How does DAK make polyester?  Heat.  Why is it hotter in Fayetteville?  It is a surge.  This is the summer surge.  I remember a CSX engineer saying that heat is a desired element when transporting the pellets to DAK Americas on Cedar Creek Rd.  No one questions the heat.  It seemed like moving mountains changing cable service.  The provider was very unclear about the services they offered.  I knew once I talked to the service installer it would be fine, and it was.  Like most families we rely upon both television and internet service.  It is important, so it was high profile this change.  It is done, and it was successful.  I have been on the wagon for three weeks, and it has been the worst three weeks of my life.  My body is more healthy and I am not in constant pain, but the mental challenge.  The time we devote to soothing our frayed nerves and souls as a result of the continual industrial assault....  Never ending.  We had added insulation blown in this upstairs attic, and it is picture perfect.  While the temperature change may be nominal, because we had insulation there already, what has changed is acoustical.  Those strafing aircraft, both military jets and trolling snooping Cessnas create ultrasound.  I am bothered by infrasound, but high frequency sound you can't hear?   What is the result?  The result is that jet hiss, that noise that was discovered at the consulate in Cuba, disrupts your high frequency content in recorded music.  As I am listening to the same music over the same Amazon device, the upper frequencies are much clearer.  The reverb in particular has more detail and is more prevalent.  ???  Eliminating invisible and inaudible high frequency noise from your living space?  Most people would say time to move, but the benefits of a paid for dwelling are vast.  In no uncertain terms renting or paying on a mortgage is pissing your money into the wind.  Period.  No matter what the property tax, you are better living in a paid for home.  Make the best of it.  They are hard at work building the Mirror Lake dam.  I am grateful.  This back entrance to our neighborhood has been closed for over two years.  The scope of this project is mammoth.  Clearly I remember when they built the last one.  It didn't take long.  It was a few pipes under the road.  After two major hurricanes in two years, they decided to use the FEMA money to build a dam for all seasons.  It almost is bigger than the lake itself.  The inlet will be similar to the one they built on Clark's Pond on Cain Rd.  It is ugly, a big concrete slab sitting above the water.  It is a bit absurd, but those FEMA dollars are coveted.  Anytime a project gets approved in Da Ville, they hire a consulting firm.  We have consulting firms out the whazoo.  The City Council hired a consulting firm to do a Rail Feasibility Study a while back.  They suggested a connector track for the Fort Bragg line running down the Murch.  Now would be the time to build it seeing as all of the land has been cleared for the building of the new Rowan Street Bridge.  Touche.

The Right Target

The 2020 election rapidly is encroaching.  Democrats still are wondering how Donald Trump won the presidency.  After losing the popular vote by two million to Hillary Clinton, how is it possible without coercing the Florida court system that Trump won?  There was no high profile litigation by a state attorney general.  There was no stalemate.  After losing the popular vote by two million, Donald Trump bought his way into the white house.  Still an American consensus does not want to admit that the Electoral College is flawed.  We do not even know which states use their popular vote to elect the president and which rely upon a an elite body of electors of whom we know nothing.  Who are these electors, and more importantly why does their vote count more than ours?  While it would seem America as a populace is dismantling Trump's spin machine part by part, the Electoral College remains.  If it is not scrutinized and repaired the unfathomable could happen.  There is no humanly way possible Donald Trump could win reelection.  He has been exposed on every level.  Logically, ethically, and morally he has been cast out as a fraud.  Then again blood runs deep in America, and it has been proven again and again in history it is survival of the whitest.  If you stop and really see the social and political dynamic in America, you should be afraid.  White oligarchical men run the world.  This is nothing new, but if you stop and really see, Red quickly is becoming the new red, white, and blue.  If Communism is allowed to continue running Capitalism, jobs will continue to disappear and the population will have no choice but to revolt.  Revolution is nothing new, but it is two hundred years old in America.  Are we too civilized to fathom revolution?  If we do is it even possible?  Latin America is very close, and military dictatorships are rampant.  Is it possible North America could develop into its own police state?  It is unless evil is exorcised from our consciousness.  That only will come through Christianity, a religious sentiment which usurps the base and sinful temptations of human flesh.  Today sin has been so skewed away from its roots, it is difficult to see it.  Gender must be taken out of the equation.  That ultimate question is who cares about and wants to preserve the human race and the earth upon which it lives?  Who cares about others?  Who cares about the planet?  I have trouble legitimizing Capitalism, because it takes a lot of brain matter to think up jobs for us all to be doing, especially when many of them are unnecessary.  Menial, pointless, unrewarding jobs that keep us busy earning our own keep.  Maybe Capitalism isn't the best choice.  Maybe Capitalism on a grassroots level is best without Wall Street.  Capitalism without Las Vegas is a good start.  States in the union without a lottery is a good start.  America is in dire need of a reorganization of values.  We don't value this earth, because each day a small faction of corporations litter our landscape with their feces.  We are supposed to live in it.  Washington doesn't care.  The economy in America was transplanted with the fall of the Cold War, and with it came new oligarchs not of American blood.  America will not return to her former glory, not without the spilling of political blood.  The useless, pointless, and violent slaying of our own citizens is the quintessential metaphor for our malcontent.  We do not even know why we are killing.  If we had have a brain in our heads, the enemy would be obvious.  They are in Washington, not in our public schools, churches, and music venues.

Military Mind Control

Dare I risk more scrutiny?  Already whenever I step into my yard and speak, out of nowhere a Gulfstream jet trolls my neighborhood.  It's like it is listening, and what better thing does it have do do?  Spend the taxpayers dollars flying around in a private jet.  It is rumored Zuckerberg does this.  Leon Panetta did this as the Secretary of Defense.  Who is the current SoD?  There is the command plane for Ground Forces with the 360 degree radar built into its fuselage.  All of them have phased array radars in their noses.  They are using infrared frequencies to monitor potential terrorists and criminals.  Acoustic Targeting.  Set up a bunch of microphones all over a city, listen, and triangulate the location of a gunshot.  I believe the army is using infrasound to target their rockets.  Although it is not listed in the technical information for that particular mobile radar unit, Amanda Dolasinsky reported it in the Fayetteville Observer.  The unit emits sound waves off which the shell bounce.  ?  There is the Fayetteville "Death Ray."  I am going to change gears.  I am not an armyphobe.  I do not hate the military.  My father was in the army, and my grandfather was a Colonel in Field Artillery during World War I.  What I don't appreciate are defense companies using technologies that are dangerous to human beings, and the army testing them at Fort Bragg.  That is what Fayetteville is.  You can label it whatever you want.  "A home town feeling."  Blah blah.  Without the military dollars in our economy, Fayetteville would be any other small southern town.  As such our population is punished, punished by the practicing of war and its ramifications a stones throw from our homes, churches, and places of business.  I understand the army must train.  I understand the nature of Fort Bragg.  There is one thing I object to, and I am not sure if it is happening or not.  I assume it is, because when I was floating in a cruise ship in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, I heard my next-door-neighbor's voice in my bunk.... in Fayetteville.  He said, "Did you feel that?"  Infrasound carries the spoken voice and tangible tactile sensations.  Somehow our location in our neighborhood is a triangulation of demonic forces, or rather a convergence of too much sound, electricity, and magnetism, and heat created by disparate sources which are unmonitored and unregulated.  If the North Carolina legislature were capable they would write legislation which protects its citizens rather than using them as guinea pigs.  It is unnatural to have two Class A railroads using downtown Fayetteville as a intermodal hub.  It's not really intermodal, but when you stir in the Aberdeen and Rockfish putting around in their fifty year old clanking GP locomotives, it is a headache.  It will give you a headache.  Add AC traction to the stew, airborne alternating currents which tamps down the local power grid, creates heat, and interrupts alpha, beta, and theta waves in the human brain.  No wonder people are shooting up America.  If you wanted to see for  yourself, lawmakers could stage a "Turn It Off" day or a "Power Down for an Hour."  I mean shut down every aircraft and every diesel locomotive on the continental United States, and see how pleasant our environment would become.  The temperature would drop, the pressure would dissipate, and we as a whole would feel better psychologically.  Just a though.  No one is reading my blog anyway.  What I hope the are not doing at Fort Bragg, and I know they are, is housing AC traction locomotives underneath Riley Road.  When I can hear my neighbors voices as clear as a bell in my kitchen and the house is insulated and the windows are shut, whence does this carrier wave come?  It is underground, and it is coming through the earth the same way the Taos Hum came through the ground and into millions of peoples homes in New Mexico.  You can't escape pollution that comes through the ground, because we no choice but to live on or in the earth.  We don't have islands in the sky yet.  It is uncivil.  I hope they are not loading munitions trains underground at Fort Bragg shielding them from potential terrorist attacks.  Do you really think anyone could get near the base?  My jet does.  It flies underneath the radar and anywhere it so pleases.  Pope field is not in their flight path, but they still fly right over my house just above the trees.  The practicing of war.  If your methods harm American citizens in close proximity to your testing grounds, certainly they will be effective harming the enemy.  The trouble is I think those brainwashed soldiers don't know the difference.

Evil Flourishes When Good Men Do Nothing

My day was ruined yesterday from the ensuing nausea caused by the Trump team's presence in my neighborhood.  Vice President Pence evidently spoke to departing troops at Fort Bragg, members of the 82nd Airborne soon to deploy to Afghanistan.  I wish they would get gone.  Hauling their gear down to Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point is a lengthy affair.  It is a job for STRACNET, the Strategic Rail Network which really is trackage of CSX Corp.  A few months ago their workers descended upon Fayetteville and repaired the Vander line running down the middle of Russell Street.  They rebuilt all of the grade crossings in a few days and did some routine maintenance on the rail, tie, and ballast.  This track serves two purposes.  One, in the phraseology of a potential presidential candidate, because they seem always to talk in lists of three examples, this track's primary purpose is to service DAK Americas, a polyester resin manufacturing plant on Cedar Creek Road on the other side of Interstate I-95.  If one were to follow it on a Google satellite map it originates in downtown Fayetteville from the CSX Milan Yard.  It is a "local" line, a piece of track that is used locally every day.  CSX has been switching raw materials in and out of DAK America's in the late afternoon ever since Trump became president.  Before that we had about a year's respite from this invasive rail activity.  We were able to sit at the dinner table facing the Milan Yard and eat peacefully without unwanted infrasonic pressure and vibration.  That changed overnight when the Donald became president by bribing most members of America's electoral college.  Some states realized this emergency and began to scrutinize their own electoral colleges.  A state can choose whether it wants its vote to represent the people, the popular vote, or a small group of unknown, incognito, yes men who are ripe for bribery.  How else could have Donald Trump won the United States Presidency?  He lost the popular vote by two million ballots.  In prime American fashion a small group of empowered elites chose the president for us.  This is the way America is, especially North Carolina.  We are too ignorant up in here to decide for ourselves who we want to represent us.  The country club has to chose for us with the aid of lobby money.  Believe me, it is not a Hobby Lobby.  Lobbying the Electoral College is all the Trump camp had to do to win.  They may have thrown in some dinero for good measure.  This man's face was on the front page of the Fayetteville Observer today, and after seeing a video clip of him with Jeffry Epstein years ago, I had to cut the photo out and tear it into little pieces.  The people of North Carolina, at least the Trump supporters, do not represent my vote.  It is clear to me that this contingency, this political movement, this group of southerners are no different than the slave owners who grew this region.  We had progressed in America with our Civil Rights Movement until Dr. King brutally was shot down in Memphis, Tennessee.  This heinous crime gave rise to the Black Power movement.  This is when America grew up and most citizens realized there was no silver lining to the American dream.  It is war.  It is war in America, and we have enough on our hands without fighting the Taliban.  Donald Trump has reignited this war, this race war, and his foul words are of biblical proportions.  Donald Trump is an epic, watershed president.  His sentiments will be cemented in American history in a dark chapter reminiscent of the Civil War.  This war is raging in America they way it always has, and I have to get out of bed and face it everyday like an ignorant hillbilly.  My life has become about survival, not enlightenment.  It is ironic that my newfound interest in jazz history is linked to Donald Trump.  As I reach farther and farther back towards the origins of jazz music, they are intertwined with the struggle for racial equality in America.  I am becoming more enlightened about jazz music, but also I am faced with a heinous racism that has plagued this country since its founding.  "I love niggers.  I think everybody should own one."  I realized that African-Americans never immigrated to America of their own accord.  They were captured, shackled, and shipped to America in the cargo holds of filthy sailing ship and sold to plantation owners for a profit.  These were the first African-Americans to populate America.  If Donald Trump doesn't like their presence here and their subsequent influence, then the white man is to blame.  The slave owning plantation owners and some of our founding fathers owned slaves.  They owned black men imported from Africa.  How's that for a conundrum?  We can say America has progressed.  We can say we have overcome the evils of slavery and our resulting Civil War.  We can bury our heads in the sand, but the same families who participated in slavery still are here today, and it is war.  Now in addition to the race war, the gender war has been reignited.  The war of the sexes.  All of this shit has happened before in America.  It is nothing new, but now Congressmen are afraid to have lunch with their women colleagues.  This is because a small group of financially influential men have spread their tainted semen across America.  Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, Matt Lauer, and Les Moonves all have mistakenly used money as a tool to sexually abuse women.  They should be in jail with Jeffry Epstein.  It is egregious behavior, something that Donald Trump knows about.  The people of North Carolina see it as natural.  They feel affluent people should be in control running the plantations like good white folk.  Only today is my nauseated stomach starting to recover.
