Getting PFAS Out of the Watershed is the Seminal Symbolic Effort in Saving America

Most people I talk to reiterate the same sentiment.  Without my having to prompt them (with a BLOG entry), they agree we are in egregious times.  Reconstruction is a more accurate adjective, because startlingly Reconstruction (in reference to the Civil War) encompasses many of the disparate social sensibilities at play in America now.  Thus far no one has been successful describing America's current plight, because it is new, complicated, and challenging.  Two distinct phenomena characterize this change in America.  The first was Donald Trump's stealing of the election from Hillary Clinton for the United States Presidency.  I may be the first to suggest this, because particularly egregious is this realization.  While many of the people I talk to reiterate the egregious sentiment, I feel most of them are unable to grasp the reality of its source.  Simply when given a choice they choose to have faith in America's governance, our system of elected public officials, and their duty as leaders to be honest and do the right thing for the people of America.  They choose to have faith, because the alternative is too startling, dire, and destructive to fathom.  When faced with their own moral choices, and their free right to have voted for and supported Donald Trump as our President, they cannot stomach a piece of humble pie recognizing they may have made a mistake.  Trump supporters inexplicably are a staunchly devoted and overzealous lot, and as such they were ripe and able targets for Trump's deception.  As Americans we cannot fault supporters of Donald Trump, because in our chosen system of governance he was victorious, at least in his Presidential bid.  He became President, but it was surprising.  How can a candidate win, when their opponent received almost two million more popular votes?  There was quiet mumbling about "Swing States," but our media did not sense then that something may have been amiss.  One only has to remember Al Gore's concession to George W. Bush in the state of Florida, when a Presidential election ultimately was decided in the courts.  We all should watch the Hollywood film "Recount," because it set the stage for Donald Trump's entire agenda as President.  It was not until four years later, that we saw in real time Mr. Trump's political strategy for winning.  Systematically he clogged the courts with superfluous lawsuits to disguise and misdirect from his own nefarious bribing of public state officials.  The moniker that emerged as his fight song, when his defeat became inevitable by Joe Biden, in actuality was self incriminating about his own methodology defeating Hillary Clinton.  Collectively the nation gasped in disbelief, when Mr. Trump was announced the winner.  It was a stark and brutal blow to American democracy, but we choose, like most people I talk to, to believe in and have faith in our system of governance.  The other choice then, in 2016, was to admit and understand that political corruption had upended the world's most lauded and respected democracy.  The freedom of America had been toppled, but we didn't notice.  Only when Mr. Trump's rants actualized in real time as "Newspeak," could be begin to understand his methodical, savvy, and conniving overthrow of American freedom.  As far-fetched as it seemed, a "Stolen Election,"  it was what he accomplished himself in winning against Hillary Clinton.  The weaknesses in the states' Electoral College procedures had not been scrutinized, and like an able competitor he and his campaign, legal team, and the Trump Organization solicited the favors of state politicians egging them to discard their states' popular votes and instead override their them with votes for him.  It was a miraculous feat, one which Trump had trained for his whole life in the field of Real Estate.  For him it was business as usual, and he emerged victorious.  America never questioned the outcome, because we didn't have the stomachs to concede to the truth.  Donald Trump is the adumbrative gladiator of American corruption having realized his success under the ruse and guise of honesty and  normalcy.  We are in year three of denial, but the steadfast determination of an honest America implemented by our Department of Justice and led by Attorney General Merrick Garland, has kept Civil War at bay.  America has retained the image of civility and freedom, but we are festering from the inside out.  This American implosion is characterized by quiet madness accomplished discreetly by lone renegades driven to their violence by isolation, desertion, and misunderstanding.  It is a covert operation, a guerilla war, and technological masterpiece of mental manipulation via the internet.  Only Donald Rumsfeld's decimation of the life-giving infrastructure of Iraq is equatable.  Perhaps Mr. Trump seeks to play bridge with him in hell.  Until we as a nation begin to understand the true source and direness of our plight, we will not progress.  The fact is America has been forsaken by the wealthy, Wall Street, Corporate America, Big Pharma, Insurance, Transportation, Food, and the Military.  The scope of the siege is so great it is difficult to fathom, but only does it encompass socioeconomic mobility.  America is great enough that the vestiges of our free market, our lives' infrastructure, is holding steadfast.  We are becoming poor and ignored, not unlike other falling democracies which end in communist oppression.  This is how it begins, with a fallen and discredited lunatic wrought with senility and continuing delusions of grandeur.  It is wise to step around this pile of poo.
