The Virus is on the prowl, and it is not AIDS. The last virus America intimately knew, and this was a long time ago, was HIV. HIV hit home, because its targets largely were intravenous drug users and homosexuals. Judgements were made, and whether the disease was or was not some kind of punishment from God, its effect was severe. The most unsettling aspect of HIV was that hundreds of thousands of its victims could have been saved. Judy Mikovits was responsible for the discovery of the important drugs effective in trying to treat HIV. The word is her research was canned, until the appropriate patents could be obtained for these drugs benefiting powerful players in the CDC. Her contention includes Anthony Fauci. (Have a look at these patents) His name is on most of them. After the patents had been obtained and several years went by, treatment became more effective. In the meantime hundreds of thousands of victims died. Several feature films have been made about the AIDS virus, and they are worth watching. Politics always is in play in human life, and it is a pity. There have been other viruses. Ebola. Bird Flu. H1N1. SARS. None of them have had the far reaching effects of Covid 19. There is a simple answer to the reason why minority Americans are dying more often than others. African-Americans and Latinos are a larger percentage of the fatalities. Considering both racism and discrimination in America, simply these ethnic groups are not privy to the same health care as white Americans. Bluntly put, if you are sick from Covid 19 and don't have health insurance, why would a hospital treat you? They know in most likelihood you can't pay their bill. Recently I was refused a referral to a urologist in Fayetteville. They called and asked if I had "film," of which I did not. I had no X rays, no CT scan or MRI. The ones I did have were several years old. In treating an enlarged prostate I never was told to have imaging done, especially of the area in the human body that is so low it can be difficult to see. I have had kidney stones, and this was evidenced on my older scans. The problem I was having needed new diagnosis and treatment. I wanted a cystoscopy where the doctor inserts a scope into the urethra to view the bladder and other accompanying organs. I did not get far, because this urologist would not consent to see me as a new patient without scans of some kind. What? I suspect the more pertinent reasons was I don't have health insurance through an employer, and subsequently I am categorized as "self-pay." Red flag. They think you can't pay, and they don't want to bother with you. Doctors' offices prefer to deal with insurance companies, because it is easier than providing an itemized list of services and simply charging the patient for them. Some doctors in more progressive state clinics have moved to this method. The insurance industry in America has become problematic, especially when normal working Americans cannot obtain the appropriate health care. Barack Obama changed some of this with his Affordable Care Act. It also added a considerable percentage to the national debt. Medicaid expansion was offered to many states to try to cover people, but the Republican lead legislature in Raleigh turned it down leaving millions uninsured. I am one of those people. When I worked in the cruise industry, my health care was included and effective. They take care of their workers. In mainstream America now we are on our on. I have been struggling with health issues since I returned to North Carolina. A large part of these problems have been caused by contact with the soil. I have suffered from a number of bacterial and fungal infection which have become systemic. I will admit that my fungal hygiene has not been good. When reflecting upon my work habits in our yard over the last years, they have been suspect. I never thought pathogens in the soil, decaying wood, and bird droppings could make you gravely ill. I have had to suffer through it to learn and come to understand these maladies. Without waxing philosophic, my problems began with a failed filling in a tooth. Because the filling failed and I was at sea on a ship, the problem went undiagnosed for several months before it turned into a full fledged tooth ache. By the time I made it to the oral surgeon in Sydney, the nerve in this tooth already was dead. The oral surgeon, who spoke Russian, remarked he could smell the decay. A root canal and a crown later, the H-pylori bacteria had made its way into my gut. I was given an endoscopy in Malaga by the King's doctor. He detected H-pylori, and so I was prescribed a two week course of antibiotics which did curb this digestive problem. The issue is, and it is a BIG one, that often antibiotics can trigger a respective fungal infection. Thus my health woes began. Candida began to grow eventually giving me "leaky gut." Never in my years of drinking alcohol had I ever had a problem with it, but if your digestive tract becomes permeable and toxins leak out into your abdominal cavity, mayhem will ensure. It is a balancing act to treat either or both infections effectively. I realized this and took a lengthy course of anti-fungal medication without drinking. My mobility issues were healed in a few short months. Painful movement, joints, and muscles returned to normal but quickly returned with the imbibing of alcohol. The sugar in alcohol feeds the yeast infection, so it is self defeating. From then on alcohol became a curse. It lost its once favorable effect. To this day my use of alcohol as an aid to mental health has been compromised. It has been a difficult year, because of the Corona Virus. I was plagued with a staph infection from a spider bite unbeknownst to me, and breathed in fungal spores that set up shop in my lungs. I have been pallid for over a year. The fungal medication did not stop my yellowed skin, because there was a bacterial infection as well. Only upon taking antibiotics and antifungals in the proper sequence did my skin finally return to normal. This was not before the fungus made its way into my spine, brain, and heel bones. My hips began hurting a year ago, and my pelvis was compromised. After I was exposed to the Coronavirus both infections became systemic, and I was a walking zombie. I developed transverse myelitis, and one half of my body became abnormal. I had pain on one side of my penis only. My back ached, and slowly it began to make its up up to my head. I developed a stiff neck, headaches, and confusion. This was spinal meningitis. Needless to say these events were extremely disturbing and life threatening, and I knew it. Somehow I stumbled upon the appropriate combination of these drugs, of which prescriptions were provided with the aid of a local doctor. After the staph infection was eradicated, the fungal infections, which were a combination of Candida, Aspergillus (black mold), or Blastomyces or Coccidioides easily were tempered with Diflucan. What had become a several year sickness almost overnight was quelled. These fungal infections are prone to reoccur, so one must monitor at all times. In my case the presence of Covid 19 exacerbated these infections. It is the same effect that is killing hundreds of thousands of Americans. Leaking blood vessels caused by a storm of bradykinin breaks down the blood brain barrier and other systems. In pulmonary episodes the lungs fill with a jelly-like substance suffocating the patient. Covid often is a fatal, but because it amplifies other serious conditions. Fungal infections are on the rise, and if we paid attention to them and their sources, perhaps a global pandemic could have been thwarted.
