It would seem the more we wade into it, the deeper it gets. The complicating issue is we do not know who the enemy is. America has become familiar with this unsettling feeling, because our police force has been murdering African-Americans for decades. The history is in the Los Angeles Police Department, and if one looks back far enough police corruption is not an uncommon American phenomenon. The majority of America has been exempt from such disturbing news. Slowly since the Trump Presidency white supremacy and racial prejudice once again have emerged as a dominant tenant of American life. It is a plague, and it needs to be quelled. If you eliminate the leader the rest slowly will disappear sinking back into the muck. I feel no real fear, but it is not time for America to devolve into a Third World nation. Only Donald Trump decided to pull this trump card. He is the instigator. He is their motivator, and although somehow he was elected to the United States Presidency it does not shield him from prosecution for sedition. The original authors of the Constitution were well aware of the potential for political corruption in government. Their precedents are crystal clear. It is up to Congress to uphold the law, restore justice, and quell this domestic insurgency. The punishment should be fast and furious. It should be methodical. No leeway can be given to Donald Trump for inciting pandemonium at the United States Capital. We have become a Banana Republic, a whimpering, whining, pathetic dog barking for attention. America has made the most grievous mistake of her existence, installing a traitor as a President. The frightening thing is the sheer number of complicit party members content with dismantling democracy and replacing it with an autocratic regime. These men, these conspirators are guilty of treason, and they are sitting in our state houses unabated and unabashed plotting their next insurrection. This is what happens when Capitalism fails, when Wall Street strays, and when the people lose control of their Republic. If Capitalism were working, none of this would be a problem. Money would be flowing through the social classes, not coagulating with the rich. Is 2021 the year in which average Americans feel the need to arm themselves against the potential threats of unhinged, deranged, misled malcontents feed by misinformation and propaganda? The Coronavirus is taking its toll on Americans making them stir crazy, volatile, and angry. They need a way to express their patriotism, but Donald Trump is not the answer. The stakes are getting higher by the day for Mr. Biden, and something needs to be done.
